"Sex at the Zoo," a Talk at Hopkins

Roger Birkel, executive director of the Baltimore Zoo, will give an illustrated talk, "Sex At The Zoo," at The Johns Hopkins University's Homewood campus at noon on Wednesday, Feb. 14.

Birkel came to Baltimore last year after spending 25 years at the St. Louis Zoological Park, where he rose from zookeeper to director of animal collections.

An amateur photographer, Birkel has found picture-taking to be a good way to learn animal behavior. In collaboration with a film production company, he produced an award-winning film, which has been chosen by The Nature Company for worldwide distribution.

This talk is part of the Wednesday Noon Series, presented by the University's Office of Special Events. All programs in this series are held at noon in the Clipper Room of Shriver Hall on the Homewood campus, 3400 North Charles Street in Baltimore. Admission is free.

For information, call the Office of Special Events at (410) 516- 7157.
