Rolf-E. Breuer Receives Global Leadership Award

Rolf-E. Breuer, spokesman of the Board of Managing Directors of the Deutsche Bank Group, has been honored with the Global Leadership Award, presented annually to honor a German business leader or political figure who has demonstrated unique leadership in the international arena and who has strengthened the relationship between the United States and Germany.

Each year, trustees of the American Institute for Contemporary German Studies, a Washington-based research center affiliated with The Johns Hopkins University, selects someone deserving of the Global Leadership Award. This year, the trustees, who include John Kornblum, former U.S. ambassador to Germany and Fred Langhammer, president and CEO of Estee Lauder, chose Breuer for his commitment to the continued success and strength of the German-American partnership.

The award was presented to Breuer in New York on Tuesday, Oct. 23, in a ceremony attended by German Ambassador Wolfgang Ischinger; Paul A. Volcker, former chairman of the Federal Reserve; and Robert Kimmitt, former U.S. ambassador to Germany.
