Re: German Ambassador Wolfgang Ischinger to speak at Hopkins

Wolfgang Ischinger, the German ambassador to the United States, is scheduled to address policy advisors, members of congressional staffs, academics and the news media in a speech scheduled for Jan. 9, 2002, at the Johns Hopkins American Institute for Contemporary German Studies in Washington, D.C.

Ischinger, who has been ambassador to Washington since July 2001, is the first speaker in a series of AICGS lectures entitled, "Germany and the United States in 2002: Changes, Challenges, Choices." Ischinger has been engaged in the formulation of Germany policy for many years and served as state secretary from 1998 to 2001.
