| Re: | Odyssey Program Uncovers the Maya Worlds, Ancient and Modern |
"Maya Worlds, Ancient and Modern," an eight-session course offered by Johns Hopkins University's non-credit Odyssey Program, will trace the social, intellectual, religious and political survival of the Maya traditions from the pre-Columbian Maya cultures of Mesoamerica to the present day. The course includes a study tour of the Walters Art Museum.
The course is being taught by George Scheper, professor of humanities at the Community College of Baltimore County, Essex, who also teaches in the Master of Liberal Arts Program at Johns Hopkins, and who has co-directed summer institutes funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities on the Maya and cultural encounters in the New World.
These interesting evening session classes run from Wednesday, March 5 through Wednesday, April 30 and each class is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on The Johns Hopkins University's Homewood campus, 3400 N.
