Spring Fair 2005: April 29, 30,
and May 1
What: |
The 34th annual Johns Hopkins Spring Fair
featuring
Free admission and free parking
Carnival rides and inflatable games
Craft vendors with quality work hand-crafted by artisans
from across the nation and other commercial goods such as
jewelry, clothing, pottery, glassware, paintings, drawings,
collectibles and literature.
Just for Kids! A special section for children featuring a
theme of Fairytales and Folklore, a literacy program with a
reading corner; interactive, hands-on activities based upon
the fairy tale theme; entertainment provided by Johns
Hopkins student groups
Food court boasting a variety of items, ranging from
festival standards such as funnel cake and hot dogs, to
warm weather favorites such as smoothies and ice cream, as
well as other American and ethnic cuisines.
A section hosting Johns Hopkins student organizations and
nationally recognized non-profit organizations, providing
information and raising money for specific causes
Photography contest and student/faculty competitions
Two daytime entertainment stages featuring Baltimore and
student bands.
Beer Garden featuring six beers on tap provided by Bond
Distributing Co.; free entertainment on the Beer Garden
stage throughout the weekend |
Special Events: |
Hopkins Happy Hour featuring the Julian Rosenberg Band and
Quintus in the Beer Garden from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., on
Friday, April 29
A comedy night featuring Ant, recently seen on NBC's "Last
Comic Standing," in Shriver Hall at 8 p.m. on Friday, April
29. Sponsored by Hopkins Diverse Sexual and Gender
Alliance.
An After-party following the comedy show with casino
entertainment and prize earnings in Levering Hall; free
admission for the Arabian Night-themed dance party provided
by the Middle Eastern Student Association.
Hip-hop artist Talib Kweli will perform on Saturday, April
30 in the Ralph S. O'Connor Recreation Center. Doors open
at 7 p.m. Tickets are $17 and are available at
