Presented By: The Talent Development High Schools program at Johns Hopkins University's Center for Social Organization of Schools
Highlights: Keynote speaker, Robert Balfanz, research scientist and co-director of Talent Development High Schools at The Johns Hopkins University and co-author of a study that identified more than 1,700 high schools across the country as "dropout factories." He will speak on Keeping All Secondary Students on the Path to Graduation. Thursday, July 10, at 8:30 a.m., International Ballroom.

"Listening to Student Voices." Saturday, July 12, at 9:45 a.m., International Ballroom. Students from Baltimore Talent Development High School will talk about how the Talent Development experience encouraged them and is helping them be academically successful. A question-and-answer period will follow the students' presentations.

Workshop by teachers, administrators and coaches from some of the more than 100 schools that use the Talent Development model: The Chicago Story (1 p.m. and 2:45 p.m., Thursday, July 10); Freshman Seminar at Lincoln High School, Brooklyn, N.Y, (2:45 p.m., Friday, July 11); Teaming at David Starr Jordan High School, Los Angeles (8:45 a.m., Friday, July 11).

Pre-conference events on Wednesday, July 9: a one-day Leadership Institute and the first day of the Coaches' Institute at the National Conference, run concurrently, 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Baltimore Sheraton City Center.
