RE: | "America & Middle East: Moving Forward" panel discussion |
WHEN: | Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 8 p.m. |
WHERE: | Charles Commons Ballroom, corner of 33rd and St. Paul streets |
Several undergraduate student groups on the Homewood campus of the Johns Hopkins University will present a panel discussion tomorrow night about the United States and its involvement in the conflicts in the Middle East. Panelists include Middle East analyst and author Aaron David Miller, a member of the U.S. Advisory Council of Israel Policy Forum and a public policy scholar at the Woodrow Wilson Center who has been an advisor to six Secretaries of State; Greg Myre, an adjunct scholar at the Middle East Institute and former international correspondent for the New York Times and Associated Press; and Waleed Hazbun, Steven David, and Robert Freedman, three faculty members in the university's Department of Political Science.
The students organizing the event expect a large turnout from their fellow undergraduates, so this event could present a great opportunity for reporters interested in talking to college-age students about our nation's involvement in the Middle East. The discussion is sponsored by the College Democrats, College Republicans, JHU Votes, Coalition for Hopkins Advocates for Israel (C.H.A.I.), JHU Muslim Association, and the Black Student Union. For more information, contact Sophie Shulman, president of the College Democrats, at 206-351-1697.
