Two Days in Philadelphia 2019

Photos by Rich Stolarski

In March of 2019 I was in the midst of my chemotherapy. I had 3-week cycles and I discovered that for the first couple of days I was still full of energy from the steroids that they gave me for 2 days before and 1 day after. Then for about 10 days I felt really bad. For the last week before my next infusion I was still tired but felt pretty good. So we set up a 2-day trip to go to Philadelphia. I had been spending a lot of the time reading about places to photograph in a variety of cities and in particular Philadelphia. That was about the limit of what I could do during that time. We decided that Philadelphia was within the range of my limitations.

We stayed in a nice hotel just off Benjamin Franklin Parkway a few blocks from City Hall. We ventured out on foot to see various sights but were limited by my tiredness. We went to City Hall, Rittenhouse Square, One Liberty Place, and the Reading Terminal Market. The pictures below represent the places that we managed to reach. There are many more that I would like to go back to see but now we are limited by the covid pandemic.
