The men and women of Campus Safety and Security at Johns
Hopkins University’s Homewood campus welcome you to
our Internet home page.
On this site, we provide you with useful information on
safety, crime awareness, and preventive measures you can
take to reduce your chances of becoming a crime victim.
We hope that our site helps make your time at Johns Hopkins
pleasant and safe, whether you are a student, faculty member,
staff member or visitor.
Campus Safety and Security provides law enforcement services
to the university around the clock. All our campus special
police officers are commissioned by the state of Maryland;
they have full police powers on all Johns Hopkins University
property in the state. These officers patrol on- and off-campus
facilities and university activities on foot, on bicycles
and in conspicuously marked security vehicles. Plainclothes
officers and investigators are also on staff. All these
dedicated officers, our support staff and our proactive
anti-crime, safety awareness and escort programs are focused
on preserving an environment where you can study, live and
work safely.
Throughout the year, Campus Safety and Security provides
safety awareness training to the members of the undergraduate
freshman class, and to new graduate and international students,
residential and student advisors and all new university
employees. We also provide specialized presentations on
request.
The men and women of Campus Safety and Security stand ready
to serve the needs of the university community. If you need
assistance, please let us know. And please let us know how
we are doing, by contacting us either directly or through
this site’s Comments or Suggestions link.
