Cheers recognizes achievement of consequence among faculty,
staff and students. A separate section records some

Changing places, new faces

The School of Public Health announced the promotion of three
staff members to the position of assistant dean. Sandra L.
Coleman will become assistant dean of student academic
support services; Donna V. Helm becomes assistant dean for
research administration; and Michael C. Taylor becomes
assistant dean for finance and administration.
    Richard W. Freeman was appointed to the newly created
position of vice president for medical affairs at the Bayview
Medical Center. Prior to this, Dr. Freeman was medical
director of the Northpoint Medical Center.
    The School of Continuing Studies has named Nancy Grund
director of marketing communications. Grund, formerly a vice
president at The Barton Gillet Co., will oversee all
marketing communications and media activities for the school.
    Cameron B. Huckell, who is completing a clinical adult
spine surgery fellowship at the Medical Institutions, will
join the faculty of the School of Medicine on July 1 as an
assistant professor in the spine division of the Department
of Orthopedic Surgery.
    Cathy Robey-Williams has been appointed nurse manager
for the Adult Department of Emergency Medicine. 
    Hugh Simmons has been appointed acting assistant
administrator in the Department of Anesthesiology and
Critical Care Medicine.
    Barbara L. Starklauf, an administrator at the School of
Medicine for the last 10 years, has been appointed an
assistant dean at the Medical School.
    Paul G. Tuennerman is the new director of dining
services on the Homewood campus. He comes from Catholic
University, where he held the position of general manager of
dining services.
    Sherri Wood has been named director of business and
information services in the School of Continuing Studies.
