Security Alert

     Baltimore City police report a man entered the Royal Farms
Store, at 12 E. 33rd St., about 2 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 18, shot
the cashier and demanded money. The assailant was described as a
black male, 18 to 20 years old, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 150 to 160
pounds, clean shaven and wearing a red shirt and black pants,
police said. The assailant ran from the store and is believed to
have gone south on St. Paul Street in a red Audi, with possible
Maryland license tag 335 AMI, police said. 
     At 10 a.m. on Nov. 11, a male walking east on East 30th
Street was approached from behind and robbed of an undisclosed
amount of money by an assailant who held his hand in his coat
pocket as if he had a handgun, police said. The victim was not
injured and reported last seeing his assailant walking west on
East 30th Street. The perpetrator was described as a black male,
5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing about 135 to 140 pounds, with
facial hair, and wearing a beige jacket and a dark baseball cap,
police said. 
     Anyone with information regarding either incident is asked
to call Homewood Campus Security at 516-4600. 
     Campus Security and Baltimore City police will increase
their patrols of the area of Charles Village where these
incidents took place. The Security Department continues to
encourage the use of the university's escort services.
