Nancy Lentz Named NCAA Woman of the Year

Hopkins women's lacrosse player Nancy Lentz was chosen as the
National Collegiate Athletic Association Woman of the Year
for Maryland. She is one of 51 state winners and one of only
11 student athletes from a Division III school to be
selected. The award, which recognizes excellence in
athletics, academics and community leadership, is made by the
NCAA Special Advisory Committee on Women's Corporate
Marketing.
Lentz was a three-year starter on defense for the Blue
Jays women's lacrosse team and the team's top defender,
earning third-team All-America honors. She also was named to
the GTE Academic All-America At-Large first team. Last
season, Hopkins finished with a 16-1 record and advanced to
the NCAA Division III semifinals for the second consecutive
year.
Lentz graduated from Hopkins last spring with a 3.98
grade point average as a biophysics major. She is currently
in her first year of medical school at Harvard.
