"Not a Lady Among Us" -- Historian Kathleen Waters Sander will speak on Wednesday, April 14, at Evergreen House, at 2 p.m. Her talk, "Not a Lady Among Us!: Those Dynamic and Daring Women of the 19th Century," will focus on the changing roles of American women. Sanders is the author of The Business of Charity: The Women's Exchange Movement, 1832-1900.

"Press and Public Policy" -- The next panel in the series sponsored by the Institute for Policy Studies will be held Tuesday, May 4, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in the IPS main conference room on the fifth floor of the Wyman Building. Hopkins students are especially welcome to attend.


Dance Lessons -- Swing dance group lessons and wedding survival dance lessons will be available in a series of workshops beginning April 8 and continuing through May 13, from 7:10 to 8:30 p.m. No previous dance experience is required, and partners are necessary only for slow dancing (8:30-9:30). The lessons will take place at the Keswick Multi-Care Center, 700 W. 40th St.

Cost for the lessons is $65 per couple for one series, $100 per couple for both series and $35 per person for five weeks. The instructor is Joanne Houlahan. To register, call in advance at 410-847-9174.
