Lighting Up Homewood!

Johns Hopkins Gazette Online Edition

As the sun sets over the Homewood campus on Tuesday, Nov. 30, hundreds of flames will flicker across the MSE Library lawn as candle-bearing faculty, staff and students join President William R. Brody and his wife, Wendy, for the university's third annual Community of Lights Celebration.

The event begins at 4 p.m. with light refreshments and music by two student groups--the Octopodes, a cappella singers, and the Sixth Dimension, a jazz band--and concludes with the 4:45 p.m. illumination of the Homewood lights.

Guests are asked to bring a nonperishable food item for the university's neighbors at the soup kitchen of the Manna House. The celebration will be held regardless of weather conditions.
