Schreiber Named To Post In State Relations

Johns Hopkins Gazette Online Edition

Bret A. Schreiber, previously coordinator of city and community relations, has been appointed assistant director of state relations at the university. Schreiber will also serve as interim director of state relations while a successor is recruited for Annie K. Kronk, who is retiring.

"Bret knows Hopkins well and, having spent a lot of time in Annapolis over several years, he also understands state government and knows many of the officials and their staffs," said Marguerite W. Sonneborn, the university's interim executive director of government relations. "He'll do a great job of keeping lines of communication open."

Schreiber, a 1995 Johns Hopkins graduate, returned to the university in the City and Community Relations Office in December 1998. He has served as the university's liaison with the mayor's office, City Council and other government agencies and with neighborhood and community associations. He has also assisted with representing Hopkins on state government affairs.
