OEO / Affirmative Action Programs Has New Web Site

Johns Hopkins Gazette Online Edition

The Office of Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Programs has a new Web site http://www.jhuaa.org.

The office assures that the university's programs and procedures comply with federal, state and local laws and regulations as related to affirmative action and equal opportunity with special attention to disability issues. It also receives, investigates and responds to discrimination complaints on the basis of race, color, gender, religion, age, sexual orientation, national or ethnic origin, disability, marital status or veteran status.

This Web site provides current information concerning the office, including guidelines for requesting accommodations for a disability, filing a discrimination or sexual harassment complaint, and how to request mediation services.

The site also may be used as a resource to obtain additional information regarding equity and diversity issues and provides a variety of links to other Web sites, including online training for sexual harassment and discrimination, community interests and government agencies.
