Now who would want to murder this woman? The answer can be found at Theatre Hopkins, which continues its 76th season with Laura, a stage version of the 1944 film noir classic with Gene Tierney in the title role. The production of this suspenseful murder mystery will open at 8 p.m. this Friday and run five weekends through Sunday, March 17, at the Merrick Barn on the Homewood campus. While investigating the murder of a glamorous young woman, a detective becomes fascinated by her portrait. Soon everyone is a suspect. Originally a novel by Vera Caspary, this adaptation of Laura was written by Caspary and George Sklar. Curtain times for Friday and Saturday performances are 8 p.m. Sunday matinees begin at 2:15 p.m. Ticket prices are $12 for Friday, $15 for Saturday and Sunday.
