Certificate in Nonprofit Studies -- The Johns Hopkins Institute for Policy Studies is accepting applications for its Fall 2003 classes in the Certificate in Nonprofit Studies Program. This part-time program is designed to develop and enhance the knowledge and practical skills needed by nonprofit staff and volunteers to run a successful organization. Center for a Livable Future Request for Proposals -- The Center for a Livable Future's Innovation Grants support interdisciplinary study and collaborative projects by JHU faculty, fellows and graduate students. Eight to 10 awards of $10,000 to $20,000 are available this year for one year of funding support. Preference will be given to first-time applicants. Outdoor Exhibition Opportunity -- Evergreen House is seeking artists' submissions for its biennial juried exhibition of outdoor sculpture, Sculpture at Evergreen. Ten artists will be invited to create large-scale outdoor works that respond to the natural and built environments of Evergreen House. Artists will receive up to $4,000 to cover the costs of creating and installing their work, but there are no additional funds for artist travel and/or lodging. At least two visits to the site are required. To apply, submit up to 20 slides in a plastic slide sheet; a slide script giving the title, date, medium and dimensions for each work; a current resume; a brief statement about the artist's work and approach to outdoor sites; and a self-addressed stamped and sized envelope (for return of materials). Only hard-copy applications will be considered; no e-mail submissions. Deadline for receipt of applications is Sept. 2.
