Women in Computing
The JHU chapter of the national Association for Women in
Computing invites faculty, staff and students in computing
fields to join. Current members are programmers, system
analysts, operators, technical communicators, trainers,
students and engineers. Meetings are at 6 p.m. on the first
Wednesday of the month at the Johns Hopkins Columbia
campus.
The first meeting, focusing on project management, is
scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 1. Subsequent meetings will
address security and CISSP, IT value management,
communication (wireless, IP telephony), Homeland security
and business process re-engineering. Annual membership fee

Race for the Cure
The Johns Hopkins Breast Center is entering a team in the
11th Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation's Race for the
Cure on Saturday, Oct. 4, at M & T Bank Stadium.

click on Race, then Registration. The team name is Johns
Hopkins Breast Center, and the password is team016. The
deadline to register online is 7 p.m. on Sept. 19; the fee
is $25.

Business Networking Event
SPSBE's Chi chapter of Delta Sigma Pi is sponsoring a
networking event with Baltimore police commissioner Kevin
Clark, who will discuss how crime relates to the city's
successful economic development. It takes place from 6 to 8
p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 17, at the Downtown Center; $10
