IBM Honors JHU Contributions to Life Sciences Research

During ceremonies last week in the lobby of Homewood's Clark Hall, Johns Hopkins University was honored as one of the first two IBM Life Sciences Institutes of Innovation. The program recognizes academic institutions that are making outstanding contributions to life sciences research. Above, Caroline Kovac, general manager of IBM Life Sciences, presents a plaque to Raimond Winslow, director of the Center for Cardiovascular Bioinformatics and Modeling at Johns Hopkins. Looking on are Andrew Douglas, interim dean of the Whiting School of Engineering; Murray Sachs, chair of the Department of Biomedical Engineering; and Steven Knapp, the university's provost.
