IACUC Inspections
The Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee will
conduct its semi-annual inspections of all JHU facilities
and laboratory space where animals are housed or used in
research from Nov. 3 through 14. The inspections ensure
compliance with applicable federal policies and
regulations.
During the inspection periods, laboratories using
animals in research should have a knowledgeable individual
available to answer questions, and records should be
readily available. Any questions about the inspections or
regulations regarding the use of animals in research can be
directed to the IACUC at 443-287-3738. The Web site,
http://www.jhu.edu/animalcare, gives further
information.
Adopt-a-Stream
Volunteers are needed to help track stream health, erosion,
water quality, bio-indicators and other measurements of
stream quality. Individuals or groups may choose their own
stream segment, or the Jones Falls Watershed Association, a
program of the Greater Homewood Community, will help them
find a stream to adopt. For details, call the JFWA at
410-261-3515.
