Participation average: 30% this week
The 2004 Johns Hopkins Institutions
United Way
campaign has raised $2,556,203. Among the services we
are providing for the community are airfare for patients
and kidney donors to travel for an out-of-area transplant,
clothing for fire victims, professional counseling
assistance for low-income tenants, laptops to support
home-based learning activities that will enhance learner
and family, adult basic education and GED training courses,
mentoring for children of all ages, hearing aids for
seniors who cannot afford them, street-based outreach to
homeless youth at risk of exploitation on the streets of
Baltimore City and a year's worth of healthy snacks and
arts and crafts materials for children in First Step's
three after-school programs.
