JHU Press Annual Book Sale

Johns Hopkins University Press books of all sizes, shapes, and varieties will be on sale for $2 per pound from noon to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 6, and from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 7, in the Glass Pavilion, Levering Hall, Homewood campus. Peabody Preparatory Summer Catalog

Private lessons and classes in early childhood education, music and dance are available for children and adults through the Peabody Preparatory's summer program, June 21 to Aug. 9. Among the offerings is Peabody Chamber Camp, a one-week intensive chamber music program for string players in grades 5 through 12 at the Suzuki Book 3-Advanced level (Aug. 2 to 6, Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.).

The Peabody Dance Department, which is celebrating its 90th year, has scheduled four two-week dance programs: Theater Arts and Dance Workshop for ages 12 and up, June 21 to July 2; Summer Dance Intensive for 8-year-olds to young adults with previous training, July 5 to 16; Dance Program for Young Children and Beginners for ages 4 to 13, June 21 to July 2; and the Pre-Season Ballet Program for ages 10 and up with at least three years of previous training, Aug. 9 to 20. In addition there are six-week evening dance classes for teens and adults, June 21 to Aug. 2.

Women, Gender and Sexuality Summer Research Grants

Applications are invited for summer grants to support research on topics related to women, gender and sexuality.

Applicants should submit a two- or three-page proposal and one letter of support/recommendation from a faculty sponsor. A budget statement of research funding needs should also be included. Undergraduate applicants may receive up to a maximum of $1,000, and graduate applicants a maximum of $1,500. Applications should be addressed to Ruby Lal, associate director of the Program for the Study of Women, Gender and Sexuality, 106 Greenhouse, Homewood campus. Applications are due by April 30.

CAM Scholarships and Fellowships for Advanced Training in Clinical Investigation

Funds are available for developmental and feasibility studies in the clinical and basic sciences investigating the use of complementary and alternative medical therapies for primary or adjuvant use in cancer or cancer-related conditions.
