Hopkins Cycling

The cycling team has formed a support and alumni organization, Friends of Hopkins Cycling. Activities will include annual giving, student race involvement and alumni group rides. Contributions to Hopkins Cycling are tax-deductible. The fourth annual Hopkins Cycling clothing sale is in progress. Official Hopkins Cycling jerseys, shorts, T-shirts and hoodies with the Friends of Hopkins Cycling logo are available. T-shirt orders are due Nov. 29, and jersey orders, Dec. 13. All items will be available after those dates in limited quantities.

Community of Caring Gift Giving

JHHS Community Services is gearing up for the annual Community of Caring Holiday Gift Giving to support neighborhood children in East Baltimore.

To sponsor a family or an individual child, see the list of children and sign up at www.hopkinsmedicine.org/communityservices.

The deadline is Dec. 15. Other financial contributions may be sent to Community Services at 550 N. Broadway, Suite 510, Baltimore, MD 21205. For more information, call 410-614-0744.

 

Helping Needy Families for the Holidays

A $15 donation to the Vernon Rice Memorial Butterball Turkey Program will purchase a Butterball gift certificate to help a family buy a turkey or other food items for the holiday season.

To participate, mail a $15 check, made payable to JHU Butterball, to JHU Butterball, Office of Faculty, Staff and Retiree Programs, Evergreen House, 3rd floor, 4545 N. Charles St., Baltimore, MD 21210-2693. Through the Adopt-a-Family and Adopt-an-Agency Program, individuals and departments can help provide gifts, clothing and food to people who might not otherwise receive or be able to afford them. New Database Trial

The SCOPUS Database, a new navigational product from Elsevier covering all sciences, is currently running a free E-Trial at Johns Hopkins, via the Welch Library's E-Trials Web page. In addition to being the world's biggest abstract database covering 25 million abstracts from over 14,000 titles across 4,000 publishers, Scopus offers powerful and innovative searching and browsing tools.
