The devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina along the
Gulf Coast has affected many of our own: Johns Hopkins
students and their families, and our sister colleges and
universities in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and
Florida.
In order to keep students, faculty and staff informed,
the Office of Communications and Public Affairs has created
a Web page coordinating response to the hurricane for and
from various Johns Hopkins constituencies. The situation is
developing rapidly, and information is likely to change
frequently, so it is suggested you check back often.
The page can be accessed from the university home
page, www.jhu.edu, or
directly at:
webapps.jhu.edu/jhuniverse/today/katrina.cfm.
In addition to information targeted to specific audiences,
the page includes hurricane-related news items and a
section on how to help.
As of press time, the page included information for
students from Katrina-affected colleges and universities;
assistance for students, faculty and staff; information for
potential medical volunteers; and a message to the School
of Public Health.
Johns Hopkins Medicine has also posted a Katrina page,
located at
www.hopkinsmedicine.org/katrina/index.html.
Departments and offices around the university with
information to contribute to this page should contact
Communications and Public Affairs at c&pa@jhu.edu or
443-287-9960.
