United Way Campaign Climbs to 91 Percent of the
Goal
Our United
Way campaign has raised $2,345,259 to date — 91
percent of the combined goal of $2,568,000 for all Johns
Hopkins entities — and the participation rate is up
to 24 percent and climbing.
Help keep the momentum going by sending in your pledge
form or attending one of the remaining special events such
as the Chili Cook-Off, set for 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on
Tuesday, Nov. 29, in Homewood's Glass Pavilion. Lunch
(chili, cornbread, dessert and drink) is $5; all proceeds
benefit the United Way of Central Maryland. For more
information, call 410-516-6060.
Thanks from United Way!
Congratulations to Mark Emerson of the
Bloomberg School of
Public Health on winning a Dell laptop computer, the
grand prize in this year's United Way Campaign thank you
lottery. More than 60 lucky 2005 campaign donors won prizes
ranging from a night at the Ironbirds game in Aberdeen to a
day at the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore.
Anyone whose contribution of $50 or more was received
by the Nov. 11 deadline was entered in the lottery for
prizes donated by local institutions and business to
encourage pledges to the United Way.
A full list of the winners, who will be notified by
e-mail or phone, can be found at
