Nana Forson, a senior majoring in
political science, was a winning contestant on the Nov.
22 episode of Wheel of Fortune during Hawaii Week.
"I hope I make my friends, family and campus really
proud today," she said minutes before the taping.
Forson racked up $12,600 in cash and prizes, including
a trip to Iceland valued at $8,700.
The Bethesda, Md., native says that when she was
growing up, Wheel of Fortune played an educational role in
her house. Her mother used Nana's favorite show to teach
her the concept of time: The one-hour trip from home to
Baltimore, for example, equaled two episodes.
