Hundreds of Johns Hopkins seniors and young alumni packed the left field upper deck of Camden Yards last Wednesday night to see the hometown Orioles end a 13-game losing streak at the hands of the Boston Red Sox.

The event, sponsored by the Johns Hopkins Alumni Association, kicked off Senior Week, seven days of fun leading up to graduation day that this year includes a crab feast, midnight boat cruise in the Inner Harbor and a trip to Atlantic City. With finals behind them, the undergraduates (many Bosox and O's fans among them) reveled in the tightly fought contest that ended 4-3.

The Alumni Association has hosted a Senior Week event the past four years, and the Orioles game turnout — 463 attendees — doubled the previous high.

With graduation just days away, The Gazette thought the baseball outing would provide a fine time for the seniors to look back on their four-year run at Johns Hopkins. To see what they had to say, see "Team '06 in the batter's box," in this issue.
