WISE High Schoolers

Garrison Forest School student Lilly Deford talks about her research with mobile robots to fellow students Jennifer Lee and Casey Canfield in the final event of the Women in Science and Engineering program, known as WISE. There are seven participants in the program, which aims to provide high school girls with greater exposure to and experience in science and engineering fields. Under the auspices of the France-Merrick Foundation-funded program, the girls worked on a variety of projects with faculty mentors from the Whiting School of Engineering and the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences. The event, which included lab tours and discussions by the participants, marks the end of the program's second semester. Garrison Forest is an independent school for girls located in Baltimore County.
