Recognition Award Order Deadline

If you are one of the more than 1,400 university staff members due to be recognized for five, 10, 15, 20 or more years of service (in five-year increments) at events in June, the Office of Faculty, Staff and Retiree Programs would like to remind you to place your order for a service award of your choice by April 13, using the instruction packet mailed to your home. According to Charlene Hayes, vice president for human resources, the custom-designed keepsakes, new for 2007, are part of HR's effort to shape the recognition program to show staff how much they are valued. "All employees play such a vital role," she said, "and I hope this new program makes a difference in showing people that they are appreciated."

Awards can be ordered quickly, online or by phone or mail. A preview of available awards can be found at: http://awards.mtmrecognition.com/jhu (log in as a guest if you have not yet received a pass code). Those who do not place an order by April 13 will receive a Johns Hopkins lapel pin. Awards will be distributed at the traditional series of events, starting with the recognition dinner at 6 p.m. on June 5 in the O'Connor Recreation Center for retiring staff and those with 20 or more years of service. Those retiring with 25 or more years of service can choose a chair or plaque, and instructions on how to order those are included with dinner invitations. Staff planning to retire before July 10 are asked to notify FSRP before April 15.

Staff with five, 10 and 15 years on the job will be presented with their award at one of the following receptions: Public Health, 3 to 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 6, Feinstone Hall; Nursing, 3 to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 12, Carpenter Room; Homewood (which includes University Administration, JHPIEGO and Peabody), 3 to 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 14, Glass Pavilion. Staff at Medicine, JHU Press and SAIS will be notified once events for each are scheduled but should still place award orders by April 13.

For more information, go to: www.jhu.edu/fsrp and click on "Staff Recognition," or call FSRP at 410-516-6060. If you believe that you are eligible for an award and have not received an information packet, contact FSRP.
