Shriver Hall Concert Series Announces 2007-2008
Season
The Shriver
Hall Concert Series' 2007-2008 season will include the
series debuts of Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln
Center Orchestra, Ben Heppner, Yefim Bronfman, Berlin
Philharmonic Wind Quintet, Choir of King's College,
Cambridge, Nathan Gunn, Pierre-Laurent Aimard, Measha
Brueggergosman and the Salzburg Marionettes.
The Sunday evening, eight-concert subscription series
opens on Sept. 30. with the Berlin Philharmonic Wind
Quintet playing in Shriver Hall, and wraps up on April 19
with a performance by the Choir of King's College,
Cambridge, in the Cathedral of Mary our Queen. Subscription
series concerts are $169 for the general public, $89 for
students, free for all Johns Hopkins Homewood and Peabody
students.
Special nonsubscription performances, also in Shriver
Hall, include Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln
Center Orchestra on Sept. 8, the Salzburg Marionette
Theatre performing Mozart's Magic Flute on Nov. 17 and
Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel on Nov. 18 (a free
children's concert), and tenor Ben Heppner on Sunday, Dec.
2.
Also on the schedule is the Discovery Series at the
BMA, a Saturday afternoon series of five concerts held in
the Baltimore Museum of Art Auditorium. Admission is free,
but tickets are required.
