Peabody Children's Chorus, directed by Doreen Falby, was
among select artists who performed
at a cultural dinner reception for the Strategic Economic
Dialogues summit between China and the
United States. The event was held June 17 at the U.S. Naval
Academy in Annapolis. The reception,
organized by the US-China Cultural Institute, treated
summit attendees, top-level U.S. Cabinet
members, dignitaries and invited guests to performances
centered around the global theme of "Man
and Nature." Attendees included Treasury Secretary Henry M.
Paulson Jr., who led the talks,
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Chinese Vice Premier
Wang Qishan. Following the
performance, chorus members had the privilege of meeting
with Qishan and Rice to receive
congratulations and pose for photographs.
