Diversity Climate Survey: Your Input Is
Critical
To gauge Johns Hopkins' success in creating a
culturally inclusive environment, a survey for all
employees will be available later this month.
The Diversity Climate Survey, developed by the Johns Hopkins Diversity
Leadership Council in
partnership with the university Commission on
Equity, Civility and Respect and the Johns Hopkins
Medicine Diversity Steering Committee, covers a wide
variety of topics including leadership, inclusion,
training and development, and civility. Participants can
share views with respect to Johns Hopkins'
strengths as well as areas of opportunity.
Employee input is essential. Data collected from the
survey will inform future policy and
program development. Along with information from the 2006
survey, this data will serve as a baseline
measurement for the Diversity and Inclusion Vision 2020,
which focuses on maintaining excellence,
reflecting our community, bridging health disparities,
building cultural competence and fostering
inclusion.
The survey, which will be available online and in a
print version, will be anonymous. Full
participation and honest feedback are the keys to gathering
reliable data and creating inclusive
programs and policies. All employees are encouraged to take
the Diversity Climate Survey and make
their opinions known.
