Lockheed Martin CEO to Speak at Leaders & Legends Lecture Series

Robert J. Stevens, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Lockheed Martin, is the scheduled speaker for the March installment of the Carey Business School's Leaders & Legends breakfast series, to be held from 7:30 to 9 a.m. on Thursday, March 19, at the Renaissance Harborplace Hotel.

A veteran of the Baltimore-based corporation, Stevens — through a career that has included experience in program management, finance, manufacturing and operations — has held a variety of increasingly responsible executive positions, including chief operating officer, chief financial officer and head of strategic planning.

Stevens is a fellow of the American Astronautical Society, the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, the Royal Aeronautical Society and the International Academy of Astronautics. He serves on the international advisory boards of the Atlantic Council and the British- American Business Council, and is chairman of the Aerospace Industries Association's board of governors. He is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and of the board of directors of the Congressional Medal of Honor Foundation.

Stevens earned a master's degree in engineering and management from the Polytechnic University of New York and a master's degree in business from Columbia University. He is a graduate of the Department of Defense Systems Management College Program Management course and also served in the United States Marine Corps.

The Leaders & Legends monthly breakfast series features today's most influential business and public policy leaders addressing topics of global interest and importance. It is designed to engage business and community professionals in an examination of the most compelling issues and challenges facing society today.

Admission to the lecture, which includes breakfast, is $35.
