Tune in to www.mix1065.net from Feb. 26 to March 1 for the 20th anniversary of the Johns Hopkins Children's Center Radiothon, to be broadcast live from the Hope Forest Lobby.

As before, the four-day marathon broadcast will feature stories of triumph over medical adversity, including interviews with patients and families, nurses, doctors, faculty and staff.

To mark Radiothon's 20th anniversary, DJs Jojo Girard, Reagan Warfield and Sarah Jacobs of the MIX Morning Show will take listeners down memory lane, talking with former patients, featuring Radiothon's most memorable moments from years past and discussing medical breakthroughs that have taken place at Hopkins Children's over the years.

A new feature called "News You Can Use" will offer quick useful tips from Hopkins Children's specialists on dealing with common afflictions such as food allergies, kidney stones and colds.

"All of us here at Hopkins Children's, from the patients' beds to the nurses' stations to the operating rooms, are eagerly awaiting this year's broadcast," said George Dover, director of Hopkins Children's. "We look forward to another unforgettable four days filled with emotions, fun, excitement, promise and, maybe, just a hint of nostalgia."

Since 1989, the MIX 106 Radiothon has raised nearly $12 million for Hopkins Children's, with a record $1.1 million donated in 2008.
