Families can learn how to stay safe at the East Baltimore Safety Day, Saturday, May 2; an entire day of activities is planned. The School of Medicine's Physicians for Social Responsibility are holding their annual Teddy Bears for Guns event at two locations: from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 407 N. Caroline St. and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 808 N. Charles St.

A Crime Prevention Fair will take place at St. Wenceslaus Lyceum, 2100 Ashland Ave. The day will come to a close with the Eastside Gospelfest at Dunbar High School. Tickets are a $5 donation. For more information about any event scheduled for Family Safety Day, call 410-614-3473.

The graduate exhibition of the 1998 graduating class of the Department of Art as Applied to Medicine will be held from Thursday, May 7, through Thursday, May 22, on the ground level of the Turner-Ross concourse at the School of Medicine.

The annual exhibition is the culmination of an intensive two-year study in medical visual communication. Artwork will highlight the various mediums, techniques and artistic styles utilized in creating medical and biological illustration.

Johns Hopkins faculty and staff can get in shape by walking around the Homewood campus, Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 12:30 to 1 p.m. The sessions begin Tuesday, April 21, and continue through June 9. After meeting in front of Garland Hall, participants can walk at their own pace or be challenged by another brisk walker. The first walking session will be led by fitness trainer Sharon Parker. Planning for Results: A Practical Approach to Project and Workload Management is a seminar designed to teach managers how to clarify project priorities, manage project costs, complete a project, plan and organize meetings, delegate effectively and practice effective teamwork.
