Committee Seeking Successor to Jimmy Jones by Summer

An 11-member university-wide committee is being formed to
search for a new vice president for human resources.
The new vice president will replace Jimmy Jones, who
resigned effective Dec. 31. Vice Provost Ed Roulhac is now
serving as acting vice president.
Eugene S. Sunshine, senior vice president for administration
and chair of the search committee, said he hopes a new vice
president can be appointed by summer. The committee includes
faculty, academic administrators, senior and support staff, and a
senior human resources representative.
Members are John J. Boland, professor of geography and
environmental engineering; C. Alan Lyles, assistant dean of
medicine for planning and analysis; Emily F. Frank, associate
dean for student affairs at Peabody; Patricia S. Bright,
administrative assistant, Office of the Vice President and
Secretary.
Also, Angela W. Eggleston, senior financial planning analyst
in the University Budget Office and president of the Women's
Forum; Orion G. Jones, human resources manager for development
and alumni relations; Kenneth A. Potocki, assistant to the
director for APL improvement; Yvonne M. Theodore, affirmative
action officer; and Barbara H. Warren, director of special
projects in the Office of the Controller.
The name of one additional committee member, a faculty
member, will be announced later.
Sunshine urged anyone with an opinion on considerations that
should guide the search committee to contact any member of the
committee or write him at 249 Garland Hall, Homewood.
