Classroom Calendar


     The School of Continuing Studies, in collaboration with JHU
Human Resources Information Systems, has developed a workshop
series for upper management professionals in issues and
applications of evolving office computer technology. Each session
will examine the current state of the art and address future
trends. Hands-on exposure to specialized aspects of the
technologies discussed will be provided. All workshops are
independent and open to senior management at Johns Hopkins and in

     All classes will be held in 401 Shaffer Hall on the Homewood
campus.


Electronic Communications    [970.905.01]
     This workshop is scheduled for Wednesday, April 12, from 9
a.m. to 1 p.m. The session will update participants on the
technology--the hardware, software and systems--used to provide
electronic connections for senior management. It will include an
introductory session on the Internet.


Internet     [970.906.01]
     The Internet workshop is scheduled for Wednesday, May 17, 9
a.m. to 1 p.m., and is intended to provide extensive coverage of
the Internet and World Wide Web systems for senior management. It
will examine the differences in detail, provide hands-on access
to the systems and introduce the participants to group-work
capabilities through networking and software.


Group Software   [970.907.01] 
     This workshop is scheduled for June 14, from 9 a.m. to 1
p.m. The session will examine in depth the use of Groupware
systems to provide a more effective working environment. It will
explore in-depth capabilities of systems, how they can be used
and when they should be utilized. It will also provide some
hands-on experience with Groupware systems. 


Executive Technology Tools     [970.908.01]
     The Executive Technology Tools workshop, scheduled for
Wednesday, July 12, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., will examine the use of
tools available for senior management to organize operations more
efficiently. It will explore project management and presentation
tools, and update participants on state-of-the-art technology and
future trends.
