School Of Nursing Makes The Big Move

Johns Hopkins Gazette Online Edition

It took three moving trucks four and a half days to shuttle 40 loads of equipment and belongings from six different locations, but when the Anne M. Pinkard Building opens its doors today, the School of Nursing will be officially in its new home.

Howard Ross, registrar of the School of Nursing, gets back to his paper work.

The first structure at Hopkins dedicated solely to nursing education and research, this state-of-the-art facility also houses the Institute for Johns Hopkins Nursing and the Center for Nursing Research.

Kathleen Sabatier, director of the Institute for Johns Hopkins Nursing, sets up her office.

The six-level building, which comprises 92,813 square feet, was named in honor of Anne M. Pinkard, a local philanthropist and friend of Hopkins Nursing. It is located at 525 N. Wolfe St., directly across from the entrance of The Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dedication will be on June 11.
