Blue Jay athletes bring home top honors

Johns Hopkins swept the 1998 University Athletic Association swimming and diving championships, which were hosted by Carnegie Mellon University.

The Blue Jays won seven individual events and four relays on their way to the men's title, which was the 11th in as many tries. Freshman Kris Lewis was named men's diver of the year. The women's championship was the Blue Jays' fourth overall. The team won five individual events and four relays to unseat Emory University.

In the 1998 UAA fencing championships, hosted by New York University, junior Kevin Little captured the men's foil title.

'Green' conferences slated for Homewood

As many as 150 campus recycling professionals are expected to attend Hopkins' Campus Recycling Conference March 12 on the Homewood campus to learn and exchange ideas about waste minimization.

On March 11, an all-day workshop titled "Building Green/Buying Green" will be held for builders, architects, facilities administrators and environmentalists.
