Faculty and Staff Flu Shots -- Flu vaccines will be offered free of charge to Homewood faculty and staff in the Great Hall at Levering at these dates and times:

Mon., Oct. 26, 9:30 a.m.-noon and 2-4 p.m.
Wed., Oct. 28, 7-9:30 a.m. and 2-4 p.m.
Thurs., Oct. 29, 9:30 a.m.-noon and 2-4 p.m.
Fri., Oct. 30, 9:30 a.m.-noon.

Student Flu Shots -- Students in the high-risk category for flu (individuals with lung disease, heart disease, severe asthma, diabetes or other chronic illnesses), or who simply wish to reduce the risk of acquiring influenza infection, may call the Student Health and Wellness Center at 410-516-8270 to schedule an appointment to receive the vaccine. The best time to obtain a flu shot is mid-October, to allow adequate time for the necessary antibodies to develop. There will be a $5 charge for the vaccine.


Pilot Project Applications -- The Johns Hopkins NIEHS Center in Urban Environmental Health is now accepting pilot project applications. Projects will be funded for up to $12,500 for the period from April 1999 to March 31, 2000. The deadline for submission is Dec. 18.
