Changing the World through Geophysics

Saman (M) Karimi

I am a geophysicist with broad interests in Earth and Planetary Sciences. My research seeks to understand the thermal/structural evolution of planetary bodies. Furthermore, part of my research is geared toward enhancing the efficiency of geothermal systems in producing clean renewable energy.

Currently I am a Postdoc Fellow at Johns Hopkins University working under supervision of Prof. Bruce Marsh and Prof. Kevin Lewis. I finished my Ph.D. at the University of Illinois at Chicago where I worked with Prof. Andrew Dombard as my adviser. My dissertation title:
The Thermal and Structural Evolution of Planetary Bodies. I earned my M.Sc. from University of Tehran, Iran.
