The nationally recognized Johns Hopkins University Business Plan Competition, hosted by the Center for Leadership Education, provides an opportunity for students to take a novel idea or innovative technology and develop a business plan based around it. Starting with a concept, students build an understanding of their target market, analyze potential competitors, craft an effective market entry strategy, and present their plans to industry professionals and venture capitalists. This highly popular event, held on the Homewood campus, draws teams from all divisions of the university.
This year the Medical Technology and Life Sciences category of the competition will be accepting entries from across the nation from teams that meet the eligibility requirements. This category of the competition will feature both an Undergraduate track and a Graduate track. The Social Enterprise Category will accept entries from the DelMarVa region that meet the eligibility requirements.
Student teams will be competing for $72,000 in prize money.
The deadline to enter is February, 16, 2015. The online entry portal will open on January 1, 2015.
The Final Presentations will be held at the Johns Hopkins University Homewood Campus on Friday, May 1, 2015 beginning at 1:00 PM
