Pioneering Hopkins TV program will make brief return engagement

The Johns Hopkins Science Review, a pioneering educational television program that was a surprise hit in the 1950s, is returning to television for the first time in 43 years. The university will air four of the original episodes in successive weeks beginning Friday, Oct. 31, with an episode titled "Profile on Poe."

Conference center open for JH users
Johns Hopkins activity at its new Mt. Washington campus continues to gear up — and more is to come. On April 18, the university purchased the 68-acre Mt. Washington Corporate Campus from the St. Paul Cos. in order to relocate administrative offices to the north Baltimore site and provide needed expansion room for the university and health system.

Sudden cardiac death: Unraveling the mystery
Six months ago a center was formed; this week its researchers want to lift the curtain on the center's future. On Thursday afternoon, the Donald W. Reynolds Cardiovascular Clinical Research Center will host its inaugural Symposium on Sudden Cardiac Death. The event will present an overview of the center's scientific goals, which are to discover the causes and warning signs of and ultimately prevent sudden cardiac death, one of the leading causes of death among American adults.
