Ron Daniels named 14th president of Johns
Hopkins
University of Pennsylvania provost, noted legal scholar
known as 'visionary' leader

Ronald J. Daniels, the provost and chief academic
officer of the University of Pennsylvania, was
elected last week as the 14th president of The Johns
Hopkins University. In a special meeting on Nov.
11, the university's board of trustees accepted a unanimous
recommendation from its Presidential
Search Committee.
