Key Returning Players in 1999
(1998 All-Americans)
Johns Hopkins will return a solid nucleus of players in 1999,
including its entire starting defense, two starting midfielders,
its starting goalie, one starting attackman, and its top faceoff
specialist. Among this group are five players who earned
All-America honors in 1998:
Rob Doerr
Sr. / D / 1st Team All-American in 1998.
One of the top one-on-one defenders in the nation. Finished
fourth on the team with 60 groundballs in 1998.
Brian
Carcaterra Jr. / G / 1st Team All-American and the recipient
of the Ensign C. Markland Kelly Jr Memorial Award as the
nation's top goalie in 1998.
Posted a 9.58 goals against average and a .625 save percentage in
1998. Will be the starting goalie for England in the upcoming
ILF World Championships at Homewood Field.
A.J.
Haugen Jr. / M / 1st Team All-American in 1998.
Established himself as one of the top young players in the nation
last season as he scored 27 goals and added eight assists from
his midfield position. Early candidate for 1999
Player-of-the-Year honors.
Matt
O'Kelly Sr. / M / Honorable Mention All-American in
1998.
Finished fifth on the team in scoring with 21 goals and 10
assists last season. One of the most over-looked players in the
nation.
Dylan
Schlott Sr. / A / Honorable Mention All-American in
1998.
One of the most amazing stories in college lacrosse in 1998 as he
led the nation in goals per game (3.43). His 48 goals led JHU
and were six times his career total entering the season.
