Costs & Financial Aid

Both the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences and the Whiting School of Engineering offer comprehensive financial assistance to support graduate students.  Programs within each school offer fellowships, research assistantships, teaching assistantships, other academic employment possibilities and tuition waivers.  Full-time, resident, Ph.D. degree-seeking graduate students in the Krieger School of Arts & Sciences and all Whiting School of Engineering graduate students are provided health insurance free of charge.  

Tuition and Expenses for the 2006–2007 academic year

  • Tuition: $33,900
  • Room and Board: $9,924
  • Books and Supplies: $1,000
  • Personal Expenses: $2,500
  • Travel: $500
  • Mandatory Health: $1,400
  • Matriculation Fee (1st year students only): $500
  • Total Cost: $49,724

This budget includes estimates for expenses which will not be billed directly by Hopkins, such as room and board, books, personal expenses and travel. Your actual expenses may vary from these estimates.
