“My best learning experience was the time I spent as a graduate teaching
assistant. My responsibilities in this capacity really helped to solidify
my understanding of the subject matter I taught - foundation material for my
own graduate studies. I believe that a person really does not understand
a subject until they can successfully teach the material to another person. In
addition, teaching has helped me to develop skills necessary to communicate highly
technical information to an audience for whom the subject is less familiar. This
has proven to be extremely valuable in the business world, where many of my co-workers
have not enjoyed the benefits of a math, engineering or science education.”
